Our Values: We seek to provide a care environment which promotes independence and social inclusion, leading to tangible quality of life benefits for younger adults living with dementia and their Carers
You donation can really make a difference to our work, we are the only provider of help and support of any kind for this section of the community in the county of Essex.

Mini Bus Appeal
As public awareness of the unique service offered by Peaceful Place has increased, the demand to deliver this service has also grown and we are now at a point at which we have an increasing number of younger people living with dementia and their families widely dispersed across the county, who need our support. In order to continue to work to our high quality standards we urgently need to purchase a second mini bus.
We need to raise £35,089 to purchase a 17 seat mini bus and cover tax, insurance and fuel. The mini bus will need a tail lift for members who are less mobile.
There is no cure for people living with dementia. However by giving us either time or money you can play a part in the service offered by Peaceful Place enabling younger people living with dementia to achieve an improved quality of life.
Your money will really make a difference to our Mini Bus Appeal. Individual donations of £10.00 will cover fuel costs for a local day trip. £25.00 will take our members on a day trip to the coast. A donation of £100.00 will replace a tyre and keep the mini bus on the road.
Larger groups of families, friends and colleagues or local business could take up the opportunity to "Sponsor a Seat."
We only need 17 sponsors and all seats will be available to ensure our members can begin enjoying an enhanced quality of life.

Building Project
Our Building Project is a Community Project and we are very keen to encourage local people to be involved. One very direct way to do this, is to 'buy a brick'.
Bricks can be purchased for £10.00 and can be bought in the name of a loved one or a memento of a very special memory shared with someone. Certificates are issued and all purchases will be recognised when the Building Project is complete.
Groups of people including families, friends, colleagues and local business may wish to discuss purchasing a whole wall and having this dedicated or sponsored.

Become a Friend
By forming or joining a 'Friends of Peaceful Place' Group you are raising awareness of the organisation in the local community and helping to raise vital funds to support our cause.
You may belong to a small luncheon or book club, where members like to organise one or two events a year for charity; you may know of a young person who is at college or university or undertaking something like the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme and who needs to participate in a community project for their award. You may be someone in a particularly sociable job role whose colleagues may be interested in 'adopting' Peaceful Place as friends. You may be a couple of friends or colleagues who have always dreamt of organising a glamorous Ball – here is your chance to do so for Peaceful Place. Again, the possibilities are endless and the timing is right, so please do think about how you can help. The Fundraising Team will be on hand to help, support and guide you.

Give a Regular Gift
Peaceful Place is a registered charity and relies strongly on the generosity and support of the community. Regular gifts can play an essential part in allowing us to work more effectively. Knowing that we have a regular amount of money coming in each month allows us to budget and plan. Your regular gift can contribute to this and really make a difference.

How Your Company Can Help
We are in the early stages of developing our corporate fundraising programme. We will be looking at working in partnership with local companies, especially where there is a link to past and present staff and their families living with dementia.
We intend to develop this programme and should be pleased to hear from any local company who may be interested in becoming involved through donating cash, staff time, sponsorship, participating in events etc. Please contact the Fundraising Office – link to Fundraising Office.
We recently organised a Pamper Evening when local Beauticians and Therapists donated their time free of charge in return for a donation to Peaceful Place. This was a great success in return for three hours of their time – so it can be something relatively small that makes a huge difference.

Payroll Giving
We are currently developing an effective payroll giving strategy – news of this will follow shortly.

Legacy
We are currently developing an effective legacy giving programme. This will be promoted soon.

Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer Peaceful Place can claim extra money from the Taxman without costing you a penny!
In order for us to claim this money you will need to complete a Gift Aid Declaration Form. Once you have signed this form and returned it to us we can claim an extra 28% on top of your donation.
This means if you donate £10.00 to us, the Taxman adds £2.82 making your donation total £12.82

Volunteer
Peaceful Place currently benefits greatly from the generosity of local volunteers giving their time freely.
We seek to involve volunteers to develop our project, bring a different perspective, reflecting the views of the local community and to bring credibility to our organisation – giving their time for free suggests that our work is of value.
We shall involve volunteers to enhance the services we currently offer, we will not use volunteers to replace paid staff.
There are currently several different volunteering roles and we are always developing new roles as we react to different situations within our voluntary organisation so please do contact us if you would like to know more.

When you contact us with a complaint, please remember to tell us what has happened, when it happened, and where it happened. If your complaint involves any of our printed material, then we would be grateful if you would send this to us, to enable us to better understand and investigate your complaint. Please note that we are only able to investigate a complaint if it is received by us within three months of the date of the incident to which the complaint refers.
What happens when I complain?
- Your complaint will be acknowledged within 14 days of us receiving it.
- Our Complaints Coordinator will pass your complaint to the most appropriate person for investigation - the identity of this person will depend on the particular fundraising activity that you have complained about, and who has responsibility for organising it.
- Your complaint will be investigated, and the outcome of our investigation will be sent to you in writing within 30 days of your complaint being received by us.
- If we are unable to complete our investigation within 30 days (e.g. for reasons of absence of a key staff member), we will contact you to outline the situation and will also inform the Fundraising Standards Board.
What happens if I am not satisfied with the outcome of your investigation into my complaint?
If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of our investigation, you have the opportunity to refer your complaint to the Fundraising Standards Board, provided that you do this within two months of receiving our response. We will provide you with the necessary details when we contact you with the outcome of our investigation.
